How To Use e-cloth

I’m confused. How do I use an e-cloth®? What’s the difference between packs, cloths, etc? What do I need for my task? Help!

Sometimes sorting through a new system can be confusing or overwhelming.

Relax. e-cloth® is really simple. Once you understand the simple principles, and how-to’s, you’ll be e-clothing with confidence in no time! We created this page to be your handy, all in one cheatsheet to understanding the e-cloth system. It’s not complicated, just different than most people are used to.

First, let’s talk a little about what e-cloth is, and how it works, so how to use it makes sense.

What is e-cloth® and how does it work?

The simple answer is, e-cloths are specially designed cleaning cloths manufactured to exacting specifications using highly sophisticated equipment and only the best materials available. e-cloths use advanced micro-fiber technology to grab up dirt, grease, grime, etc, locking it into the fibers, preventing transfer of bacteria, dirt, grease, grime etc back onto other surfaces as you clean. In fact, e-cloths remove 99% of harmful bacteria from hard surfaces.

 

This is very different from how any other fibers act. Other fibers mostly just push things around, relying on some absorption properties, but transfer of bacteria, dirt, grease, etc is a given. e-cloth’s fibers grab it all up, leaving nothing to transfer or smear.

e-cloth is a like a magnet for dirt, grime grease and bacteria, making e-cloth a better, faster way to clean.

“The best microfiber cloths on the market have between 90,000 and 200,000 fibers per square inch (MOST cloths being sold only have 25,000-75,000).  e-cloths have 1.6 Million fibers per inch.  This is possible because we developed a better manufacturing process – using technology to be better.  Why are fibers important?  The cloths are made of polyester and nylon, so they don’t “absorb” anything.  Water, dirt, oil, grease, grime and even bacteria are trapped within the fibers – so the more fibers you have the better the cloth works. Think of it as millions of tiny hands grabbing onto everything on the surface of your countertop or sink. 

The cloth is also proven to remove over 99% of bacteria from a hard surface.  These cloths don’t kill bacteria, they collect bacteria from surfaces.  This is another benefit of all of those fibers – they literally scrape the surface clean at a microbial level.  The best part – when you run this cloth under hot water in your sink, all but .01% of that bacteria, dirt, oil and grease is released from the cloth down the sink.  So, there is virtually no transfer back onto clean surfaces.

So, what about all that nasty stuff your e-cloths pick up? That’s one of the best parts.

The e-cloth fibers turn loose of all that dirt, bacteria, etc when they are run under water. A quick rinse under your sink faucet causes the fibers to release everything down the drain. How do I use e-cloth®?

 

How do I use e-cloth®?

Just remember this simple pattern and you’ll never get confused about how to effectively use your e-cloth: 

Wash. Dry. Rinse. Repeat.

1. Wet surface with water and wash or just wipe with wet e-cloth.
2. Dry the entire surface with a dry e-cloth Glass Polishing cloth.
3. When either cloth becomes dirty, rinse under warm water in sink to release trapped dirt and bacteria and continue cleaning.
4. Repeat above steps as often as needed throughout the day.

Wash. Dry. Rinse. Repeat.

Stress-free, bacteria-free, chemical-free cleaning is really that simple!

 

How do I take care of my e-cloth?

Caring for e-cloth is really pretty simple.

1. Use your e-cloth all day, just wash, dry, rinse and repeat.
2. Once a week, throw your e-cloths in the washing machine, wash in hot/very warm water, dry in the dryer and you’re set to go again for another week.

Just remember, don’t bleach or use fabric softener or dryer sheets on your e-cloths. Bleach will deteriorate the fibers, fabric softener will plug the fibers.

If you accidentally do use fabric softener or dryer sheets, don’t panic. Just rewash them, the fiber will release the softener and be as good as new.

Most e-cloths have a 300 machine wash guarantee. That is almost 6 years of use if machine washed once a week!

 

 

So, what are all these packs? What are they, what is different about a pack vs just getting individual cloths?

Don’t get confused by the different packs. They are simple as well.

e-cloth® has several 2 pack sets that are designed to help you in different special applications around the house, etc. These bundled sets are a great value for the money, saving you $$ over purchasing each cloth separately. Packs are a great choice!

And remember, most packs are used the same way. Wash, dry, rinse, repeat. Simple. 

e-cloth 2 packs usually include-

• a color coded set that allows quick identification
• Some packs have a wet cloth with a special weave to more effectively tackle the job it is designed to handle, like in the window pack or the range pack
• some packs have special features, like a scrubbing pocket, to make your job easier
• usually a multi purpose cloth (wet) and a glass/polishing cloth (dry) is included in each pack.
• Some 2 packs include 2 of the same cloth, like the dusting pack, at a reduced cost per cloth.

So, how do I get started? How many e-cloths do I need? What should I start with?

Each person’s needs are different. But you’ll probably find you don’t need nearly as many e-cloths as normal cleaning cloths. Since they are highly reusable and sanitary during a cleaning project,  the same e-cloth can be used over and over and over on the same job or throughout the day/week/month.

If you want to totally switch your home cleaning to e-cloth, definitely look at the bundles and value packs. We started with a Window Pack. Windows are a pain to clean, use a ton of paper towels and can be challenging to get streak free. Streak free windows with just water sounds impossible, but it really worked and way less time- we were hooked! ????

 

Okay, so which e-cloth® do I need to use for which job?

We love how simple this really is.

For most jobs, you just need a General Purpose e-cloth where you are cleaning a hard surface with a wet cloth, and a Glass & Polishing e-cloth to dry the surface with. Basically, that’s it. With those two cloths, you can clean, polish and naturally get rid of harmful bacteria on just about any hard surface.

Like we mentioned above, there are also special cloths for special purposes. Some tasks are just tougher than others, or more delicate. Use the chart below to choose the right products for your needs.
