Our ewes
Our genetic makeup of our ewes is a mix of mostly Dorper with a little Katahdin added in. This makes for a large framed, hardy ewe that produces large healthy lambs. Our ewes have excellent mothering instincts as well.
We breed our ewes for the first time when they are 10 months old. This makes sure that they are strong enough to raise a large lamb.
We make sure they have the best pasture we can offer while they are bred and while they are raising their lambs. Although these ewes are bred to raise large lambs and keep up their body weight while on sparse forage. Such as brush, weeds, and native grasses. They seem to prefer the weeds and brush more than the pasture grasses sometimes.
With their strong genetics and instincts, they will thrive just about anywhere.
